Job Profile:

     (5) Johnston “Ohio Special” Boilers
     Gordon-Piatt Gas/Oil Burners
     Gas Pressure Booster
     Draft Controls
     Kentube X-ID Economizers

     (1) Sellers Summer Boiler

There are five (5) new Johnston Boilers at this jobsite, installed in 1997. Previously, the facility operated a large tri-fuel boiler that could burn gas, oil or coal that was also manufactured by The Johnston Boiler Company.

“Ohio Special” Boilers (steam boilers below 358 sq. ft. HS) represent a unique challenge for owners, as well as manufacturers. These boilers fire far beyond conventional boiler rates so the design and fabrication was critical. Designs that can’t handle the high heat transfer rates will not last very long.

All Johnston Wet Back Boilers are designed to withstand severe service. As a result, these big green boilers are famous in the boiler industry for their durability, safety, and efficiency.

Johnston’s “Ohio Special” Boilers are designed for the extreme conditions they encounter. Each boiler is factory test fired to eliminate field problems and prove efficiency prior to shipment.

A small Sellers steam boiler was selected by the engineer to handle the low steam needs during the summer months for domestic hot water and kitchen demands.
